Amazon Cyber Monday 2016 sales: Ready, Set…

Amazon has kicked off Cyber Monday 2016 with a slew of sales this coming week on its own products, such as the Echo and Fire tablets, as well as on items from others, ranging from Exploding Kittens card sets to Nest thermostats.

(Black Friday & Cyber Monday watchers such as BFads and Best Black Friday have been a big help in keeping tabs on deals.)

Amazon, which says people ordered more than 54 million items last Cyber Monday, is boasting more than 75,000 deals this week at  www.amazon.com/cybermonday . The online retailer says the most watched deal by users of its Watch A Deal app this year so far is for a Mermaid Tail Blanket.

As for Amazon devices, here are the markdowns being offered

• Dash Buttons, .99 cents to buy and $4.99 credit back after your first purchase
• Save $40 on Amazon Echo digital assistant device, for $140

E-commerce analytics company Profitero says that Amazon’s average discount (24%) across its Black Friday deals was the lowest among major retailers examined. However, Amazon also promoted more discounted products than any other seller, so those discounts were spread over 945 items.

*Toys R Us makes its Cyber Week sales available Nov. 27-Dec. 3, and includes everything from Star Wars lightsabers to 20% off assorted Nerf blasters.

*Ticket marketplace StubHub is offering a 10% discount when you buy three or more tickets through the website or mobile app with the promo code, YOURHOLIDAYOUT. The deal has already started and runs through 11:59 pm PST on 11/28.
